Graduation Brunch at Zilly Bee

Guess what?!

I graduated!

(Pure bliss. More pictures to come soon!)

I got a Canon Rebel T3i (amongst many other amazing, thoughtful graduation gifts from all my friends and family. There are no words in the world to express how much I love you all) !!!!!!!!!

After an amazing ceremony and dinner at Ceviche with family and friends, my mom, aunt and I planned to stay at the Grand Bohemian to continue the graduation festivities into the night!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. A big thank you to my Uncle Tom for the wonderful accommodations!

To be honest, I didn’t feel like going out after dinner. I was alllll for it until we got back to the room and snuggled under the covers (because it was a cold 65 degrees in Orlando haha, and I’m a huge fan of comfortable hotel beds). I’m so thankful for the friends that don’t take no for an answer (Maddie)… She literally came into the lobby of the hotel and dragged me out, and I am SO glad she did. Going out for me is like going to the gym for some people — the hardest part is just getting there, but once you’re there it’s not that bad (and usually fun!)

It’s always a great night when I’m with these friends. I’m so blessed to have such fun people in my life!

I also saw a bunch of familiar faces, which is always fun!

I went back to the hotel room after a night full of laughs, fireball shots and dancing. The morning arrived WAY too soon, but I was so excited to play with my new camera! My mom, aunt and I headed out to explore the downtown area and ended up stumbling upon Zilly Bee Cafe, a breakfast/brunch restaurant.

It. was. so. good. There’s a great mixture of healthy options and typical hearty breakfast fare, so it’s suitable for any taste.

I opted for the Bene-Florentine without the Hollandaise sauce and subbed the english muffin for whole wheat toast. They were also featuring a special: gingerbread lattes. I’m not a huge fan of sugary drinks (I don’t like drinking my calories, I’d much rather eat them), so I asked if they had any sugar free options available. They were super gracious and made me my own special sugar free hazelnut latte πŸ™‚ (P.S. that brings up another point — Don’t be afraid to modify your order at restaurants. I always feel annoying when I ask to substitute, but most restaurants are more than willing to modify for healthier options that aren’t on the menu!)Β

They also have a wide variety of tea available. We tried one of their seasonal fruity options and ADORED it!

I definitely recommend this cute little restaurant for anyone visiting Downtown Orlando. My family and I left super full and happy!

(No hiding from a hangover with this camera….)

And now for some funny hotel room outtakes for your enjoyment:

Cue music: “IT’S A PHOTO SHOOT” – Gucci

And lastly, I leave you with my “YOUNG, WILD, FREE AND READY TO TAKE ON ORLANDO” photo! Yes, I jump on fancy hotel beds. Don’t act like you’ve never done it.

The world is my oyster. This is only the beginning πŸ™‚Β

  1. Congratulations!! So happy for you! You have a lot to be proud of and even more to look forward to. Your graduation celebrations sound like a wonderful time. Have to agree with you on the point about going out – it’s most difficult to get me out the door too!

    • Thank you!!! And right?! That’s what I’m so thankful for my friends who don’t take my “I’m too tired” BS… They’re like SHUT UP YOU’RE COMING hahaha and I’m always so thankful for that because I end up having so much fun!

  2. Congrats! I am very happy for you and I am proud of you. I know that working and going to school at the same time is no joke, and much harder than people think. It sounds like you had a great time, and what is really awesome is you had great people to enjoy it with!!

    • Ahhh yes… no more annoying school posts!!! (After graduation recap, of course haha) Today has been glorious because I haven’t felt guilty about doing fun things. Usually I’d be worried about something I needed to do for school, etc. NOT ANYMORE WOO!

      • Thank God, because I was totally tired of hearing you complain all the time. KIDDING!!!!

We all have to have fun now and then. It is nice for college to be over. I do miss it at times, but working and going to school at the same time sucks!!! Just being honest!

      • LOL! I hope it didn’t come across as complaining, even if I did want to rip my hair out strand by strand at times hahaha. I totally feel ya… I’m looking forward to some down time and giving my blog some much needed attention again! How’s your injury?

      • I didn’t take it that way, and I believe we all need time to vent. You can’t keep it all inside you. That isn’t healthy. I say take the down time and recharge your battery. You need some personal time, and you can get to the blog afterwards.

Things are going really, really well. I wouldn’t say I have fully recovered but my Chiropractor has been a huge help. I wish I was completely well, but when you have an issue for over 4 years, it isn’t simply going to go away in 2 months. I have muscles that have been tight for ages, but I can tell they are starting to loosen up and stay that way.

I have been working out again, and I actually ran for the first time in ages yesterday. I didn’t do anything mind blowing and made sure to listen to my body. I still got a ways to go, but we all have to start somewhere. I cooled down and stretched for a while. I have noticed any sort of out of the ordinary pain, stiffness, or soreness, so I would say all in all it went great. Thanks for asking!!

      • Thanks and I am glad it is going better. It was nice after my run to not be hurting, and I thank God for that. – HA, I am going to have to start doing some sort of yoga just for you!

  3. Awww CONGRATS! What a fun way to celebrate graduation!!! I can’t wait to see where the next chapter takes you, it’s something to be so proud of πŸ™‚ I am in love with that last picture of you standing on hotel beds.Rockstar.

  4. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! (Again! How many times can I say it before it gets annoying?!) You’re so beautiful, twinnie!!! Love the last picture of you the most!

  5. An outstanding share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a colleague who has been conducting a little homework on
this. And he actually bought me dinner due to the fact that I stumbled upon it for
him… lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thanks for the meal!!
But yeah, thanks for spending the time to discuss this issue here on your
