I’ve grown up around the sport. My ex-boyfriends have played it. My dad still plays in a league… and yet I can never fully wrap my mind around baseball. I guess it’s partly because I grew up with my mother mostly and we focused more on watching Dr. Phil and reading than watching baseball (go figure :-P.) But when I had the rare opportunity to choose a movie for date night, I chose 42 — the story of Jackie Robinson. We’ll see if this decision bites me later, but I’ve heard pretty good reviews so far!
This morning began a little early… OK. Really early. My alarm went off at 5 and I completed 30 minutes of a spin class and a shoulder workout. Gotta love early mornings!
I spent the rest of the day working and now I’m off to see the movie. I’ll leave you with this amazing article I recently came across:
Many women fear exercise because they think they are too “out of shape.” How contradictory. They see the super skinny girl running mile after mile on the treadmill or the beautifully sculpted woman in her 40’s sporting spandex around the weight room and easily become intimidated. This has happened to everyone. We all start somewhere. Don’t be ashamed! Take pride in your body and enjoy exercise for what it is. Focus on the benefits, both short and long term and you’ll be more likely to stick with it in the long haul.
Remember, you’re doing this for yourself, not anyone else. Working out and eating healthy is about so much more than just appearance. It allows you to enjoy all the beautiful things life has to offer. Or just exercise so you can
Ok I promise I’m done now. Cheesy meme Friday= complete. Have a fun weekend!
